The clutch disc should be checked for rivet depth and any signs of damage. The release bearing is usually replaced along with the clutch disc. The pressure plate should be examined for damage and grooves. Clean the flywheel and pressure plate before installation and make sure the clutch disc is properly aligned. Tighten the pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts in a diagonal pattern. Lubricate the release bearing and install the transmission and other components that were removed.
