Remove the wheel by first unlacing the lug nuts, lifting the car so it rests safely on jack stands. Next, turn over on the side in question and unscrew the tie-rod end with the jam nut collared to it. Pop off the outer rack and pinion boot clamp by pulling on the collar-the collar is spring type, it will open easily when you press it. Fortunately, the inner ends of the rack and pinion boots are secured by clamp that still needs to be removed, but this can best be done by cutting off the inner boot clamp using the diagonal cutters. While removing the old boot, ensure that you put your foot out of the boot and once you want to fix the new one, you will have to thread and serration on the end of the steering rod and cover with tape gently because the new boot is small. Centre the new boot on the rack and pinion until it fits into the groove on the steering rod, then fit new clamps. Next, unwind the tape and inplace the tie-rod end. Lastly, fix the wheel and the lug nuts, lower the car and then for the lug nuts torque it to the standard recommended by the manufacturer.

Lose the wheel bolts, lift the car, and prop it on jack-stands before you can remove the wheel. However, next we must take out the tie-rod end, and or the jam nut has to be taken off as well. Slide off the outer rack and pinion boot clamp using a pair of pliers since the ones that hold this component can be easily released as they are of spring-type. Next use the diagonal cutters to cut off the inner boot clamp because the two inner ends of the rack and pinion boots will be held in place by clamps that are going to be useless. Stepping out of the boot first and then before putting the new boot on the end of the rod pull the threads and serrations over with the tape so that they don't damage the small end of the new boot. Place the new boot on the rack and pinion such that it fits into the groove on the steering rod, then insert new clamps. Pull the tape away and then fit in the tie-rod end. Furthermore, fit the wheel and the nuts on the lug, and then drop the vehicle and finally torque the lug nuts.
