- A:2009 and earlier models, Disconnect the air intake hose and breather hose from the air filter box. Disconnect the intake tube from the air filter box - it need not be removed from the vehicle. Disconnect the wiring from the MAF sensor. Also, unclip the sensor from the retainer on the air filter box. Loosen the hose clamp holding the filter box to the throttle body. Remove the bolts and remove the air filter box from the engine compartment. The air filter box is secured with two bolts and a hose clamp for 2004 through 2009 models. Installation is the reverse of removal. 2010 and later models: Disconnect the wiring from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Unsnap the two clips that secure the lid. Loosen the outlet hose clamp, then lift off the air filter lid. Detach the small coolant hose from the inlet air filter assembly. Detach the wiring harness clamp, then remove the 3 bolts. Lift the inlet air filter assembly off. Remove the air filter, then detach the hose from the 3 hose clamps on the lower air filter box. Remove the 3 mounting bolts and lift out the air filter lower box. Installation is the reverse of removal.Posted by ToyotaPartsDeal Specialist
