Toyota 23300-0D010 Fuel Filter(For Fuel Tank)

Relieve the fuel system pressure. Note: 2001 and later models do not have a separate serviceable fuel filter. These models have a filter in the fuel tank which is designed to last for 100,000 miles or more. Disconnect the negative battery cable. If necessary for access, remove the air cleaner assembly and evaporative canister. Unscrew the banjo bolt from the top of the filter and disconnect the fitting from the filter. Disconnect the fuel line fitting at the top and bottom of the fuel filter (1998 through 2000 models only). Loosen the fitting at the bottom of the fuel filter with a flare nut wrench while holding the filter canister from turning with an open-end wrench. Remove the bracket bolts from the inner fender panel and remove the filter and bracket assembly. Note that the inlet and outlet pipes are clearly labeled on their respective ends of the filter and that the flanged end of the filter faces down. Make sure the new filter is installed so that it's facing the proper direction as noted above. When correctly installed, the filter should be fitted so that the outlet faces up and the inlet faces down. Connect the inlet fitting to the bottom of the filter, then mount the bracket to the inner fender panel, tightening the bolts securely. Now tighten the inlet fitting securely. Connect the outlet fitting to the top of the filter, using new sealing washers on either side of the fitting. Tighten the banjo bolt to the torque. The remainder of installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
