Spark plugs are recessed deeply in the engine, requiring a 16 mm spark plug socket and extension bar for access. Using ordinary deep sockets is not advisable. Care should be taken to prevent dirt from entering the cylinders when removing the spark plugs, although it can be challenging due to the deep recesses. Examine each plug as it's removed to assess the engine's condition based on deposits and insulator appearance. The spark plug electrode gap is critical, and it should be set to the specified value. Be cautious not to bend the center electrode when adjusting the gap, and special tools are available for this purpose. Before installation, ensure the spark plug's threaded connector sleeves are tight and the plug is clean. Tighten the spark plugs to the specified torque using a torque wrench and a spark plug socket, then refit the ignition coils, air cleaner, and inlet duct.
