Toyota 23100-61050 Fuel Pump Assembly

The fuel pump is located on the side of the engine block. To begin, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, taking caution if your vehicle's stereo has an anti-theft system. Place rags under the fuel pump to catch any spilled gasoline. Carefully unscrew the fuel line clamps and slide them off the pump. Remove the fuel lines by twisting the rubber hoses from the pump's inlet, outlet, and return ports. Unbolt and remove the fuel pump. Before installation, coat both sides of the gasket surface with RTV sealant, position the gasket and fuel pump against the block, and securely tighten the bolts. Attach the lines to the pump using new hose clamps. Finally, run the engine and check for any leaks.

Check the fuel pump and lines for any obvious damage or fuel leakage. Also check all hoses from the tank to the pump, particularly the suction hoses at the fuel tank and pump.

Turn ON the ignition switch (but do not start the engine).
