To remove the coolant reservoir, first disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the auxiliary 12-volt battery and remove the cover from the top of the radiator. Then, raise the vehicle and remove both engine lower covers, the front bumper cover, and the left inner wheel well liner. After the reservoir has cooled, drain it and disconnect the hoses and wiring connectors. Support the reservoir and remove the nut and four bolts securing it before separating the hooks and lifting the reservoir from the vehicle. To remove the heated coolant pump, clamp off the hoses and disconnect them from the pump after raising the vehicle and removing the left engine lower cover and inner wheel well liner. Disconnect the wiring and remove the bolt before detaching the pump. When installing both components, refill the cooling system through the reservoir and bleed out any trapped air.
