At specified time intervals, perform a fluid replacement for the automatic transaxle and differential. Prior to starting the process, acquire the designated transmission fluid as specified in the recommended fluids and lubricants section. Ensure you have necessary tools on hand, including jackstands for vehicle support, a 10mm Allen wrench, a drain pan with ample capacity, newspapers, and clean rags. Begin the procedure after the vehicle has been driven to warm up the fluid, raising it on jackstands for access to the transaxle and differential drain plugs. Be cautious around hot exhaust components. Position the drain pan beneath the transaxle pan's drain plug and remove the plug with the Allen wrench, allowing the fluid to drain forcefully. Reinstall the drain plug securely. Proceed to remove the front transaxle pan bolts, then loosen the rear bolts and gently pry the pan loose to drain the remaining fluid. Remove the bolts and lower the pan. Remove the filter retaining bolts, disconnect any clips (if applicable), and lower the filter, taking care as it contains residual fluid. Place the new filter, connect the clip (if equipped), and secure it with bolts. Clean the gasket surfaces of the fluid pan thoroughly, removing old gasket material. Remove magnets, wash the pan with solvent, and dry with compressed air, ensuring magnets are cleaned and reinstalled. Install a new gasket, place the fluid pan in position, and tighten bolts. Locate the differential drain plug, position the drain pan underneath, remove the plug with the Allen wrench, and drain the fluid. Reinstall the plug securely. Add new fluid to the differential until it begins to overflow from the filler hole, being cautious not to overfill. Remember, the automatic transaxle and differential are separate units. Lower the vehicle and, with the engine off, add new fluid to the transaxle through the dipstick tube using a funnel to prevent spills. Gradually add fluid, periodically checking the level with the dipstick, allowing time for it to drain into the pan. Finally, start the engine, shift the selector through all positions from P to L, then back to P, and apply the parking brake. With the engine idling, verify the fluid level and add fluid up to the Cool level on the dipstick.
