    Q:
How to remove and refit Hazard Warning Switch,Ignition Switch,Mirror Switch,Power Window Switch and Turn Signal Switch on Toyota Echo? Posted by Customer
    A:
It is important before disconnecting any switch to make sure the battery negative lead is disconnected, and they should be moved to aside. For ignition switch and steering lock, it is necessary to first remove the shrouds of the steering column, disconnect the plug from the wiring, and declip the anti-theft immobiliser transceiver unit. Insert the ignition key and turn to position I to unlock the cylinder and then with the help of a small screwdriver, push this locking pin at the front of the lock housing and pulling the lock cylinder out. To refit, turn the assembly in the lock housing until the locking pin engages, move it to the position O with the help of the ignition key, and turn the key off. That means when dealing with the ignition switch, one ought to make sure that the steering column lock cylinder is not excised. There is no need to touch the shrouds of the switch; the wiring plugs must be disconnected, by removing the two switch-retaining screws the switch can be fully withdrawn from the switch-mounting bracket, it must be refitted in such a way that all the detents properly engage. As for the switches of the steering column, several steps need to be taken: first, the shrouds are to be removed, then, the wiring plug is disconnected, and finally, a small screwdriver is required to push the specific release tab and pull the switch out. the glazing with both heated rear window and air conditioning switches are combined with the blower switch and cannot be ordered separately; refitting is the reverse of removal. For the electric mirror switch, remove the switch panel; unscrew the wiring plugs, and know that the mirror switch is not orderable individually. In order to get to the headlight beam adjuster one must first take off the lid of the fuse box, the switch panel has to be popped out, wiring plugs have to be disconnected and finally the beam adjuster switch has to be pushed in the rear and popped out of the panel. The rear foglight switch could on the facia panel or on the steering column switch; procedures for removal and refitting are very similar in both cases. To remove the blower motor switch, one has to get at it from the back of the heater control panel. For the audio remote control switch, it is necessary to take of the shroud, pull out the wiring plug, and then take out the switch nearer to you. The components of electric window switches are delicate and need the technician to pry out the switch panel from the door, unveiled the wiring plugs, and demoding the switch from its trim piece. Centre console switches are common; hence, their removal and refitting procedures are standard. For main door courtesy light switches, open the relevant door, unscrew the switch then pull it out to disconnect it, and this process will make the wiring plug come off the terminals, be sure not to let the wiring drop back into the switch aperture during the process.

    Q:
How to disconnect and remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder and Ignition Switch on a Toyota Corolla? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and remove the steering column covers. Unplug the ignition switch wiring harness connectors by disconnecting the electrical connectors at the bottom of the ignition switch housing. Remove the switch retaining screws to take out the electrical portion of the ignition switch, then pull the switch from the lock cylinder housing, with installation being the reverse of removal. For models equipped with the engine immobilizer system, gently pry off the plastic shroud around the ignition lock cylinder and disconnect the electrical connector, lifting the shroud edge from the locating tab just enough to slip it off, as it houses the amplifier for the special transponder keys. Pry lightly to remove the illumination ring, then take out the unlock arming switch. Insert the key and turn it to the ACC position, then use a small screwdriver or punch to depress the lock cylinder retaining pin and withdraw the key cylinder. To install the lock cylinder, depress the retaining pin and guide it into the housing until the pin extends back into the locating hole, with the remainder of the installation being the reverse of removal.
