The A340E and A340F transmissions feature two speed sensors, the input speed sensor fixed at the front end near the bell housing and output speed sensor at the rear end of extension housing for the 2 Wheel drive Models while for 4 Wheel drive the input speed sensor is mounted at front left corner of the transfer case. For the replacement of a speed sensor, one has to lift the car and firmly support it on jackstands; next, remove the electrical connector of the specified speed sensor. Depress the clip and unscrew the retaining bolt and then replace the sensor while tossing out the old O-ring. When starting a new sensor, put clean automatic transmission fluid on the O-ring of the sensor to be installed. For the A750E and A750F applications they are installed in the same way and for both 2WD and 4WD ; to be exact input shaft speed sensor is installed on the left side of the assembly while the output shaft speed sensor is installed on the right side of the assembling. The replacement process follows the same steps, Lift the vehicle, pull the electrical connector, unthread the retaining bolt and the sensor; throw away the old O-ring, apply ATF on new O-ring, and tighten the bolt while reassembling.
