  Q: How to remove the CMP sensor on Toyota V6 and V8 engines?

  A: On V6 models, the two Camshaft Position Sensor are located on the inside walls of the cylinder heads. To remove it, take off the drivebelt and left timing belt cover, disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector and remove the bolt and stud. The CMP sensor is also located on the front of the left cylinder head. To remove it, remove the engine cover, followed by disconnecting the CMP sensor electrical connector and removing the retaining bolt and sensor from the driver's side valve cover. Installation is the reverse of removal.
