The Automatic Disconnecting Differential (ADD) controls power flow through the right axleshaft in 4WD and 2WD modes. It negates the need for locking hubs but can cause increased wear. If shifting issues occur, have the ADD system professionally checked. To remove the differential carrier, wheels, driveaxles, engine cover, and differential lubricant are removed. The driveshaft is disconnected, and other components detached. The differential is lowered by removing mounting bolts. Installation is the reverse of removal, with lubricant refilled. To remove the ADD actuator, the hose and electrical connector are disconnected, and retaining bolts removed. The actuator is then removed and reinstalled in reverse order, with new RTV sealant applied before tightening bolts.
