How to remove and install the Voltage Regulator on a Toyota Supra?

Remove the alternator for models from 1979 through 1983. Hold the rectifier terminal with needle-nose pliers and unsolder the stator leads from the rectifier holder, ensuring not to overheat the rectifiers. While holding each terminal with needle-nose pliers, unsolder the regulator leads from terminals F, L, and JG on the rectifier, taking care not to overheat the diodes. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly, with important points to remember during reassembly also applicable. For models from 1984 and later, remove all three regulator mounting screws and take out the regulator. While holding the new regulator and the brush holder together, install them as shown, with installation being the reverse of removal.
