This Alternator is mounted in two cast aluminum parts and consists of a fixed stator and a rotor mounted to a shaft that also supports a pulley and a cooling fan on the front. The shaft is supported by housed bearings, and brushes, heat sinks, and a voltage regulator are placed in the rear part. A belt is also connected to the crankshaft and spins the rotor inside the stator windings, creating a magnetic field that induces alternating current. The Alternator assembly uses diodes to convert AC to the direct current required to power lights, ignition, infotainment, and charge the battery.
