Disconnect the negative battery cable. For carburetor engines, the fuel filter is below the brake master cylinder. Pull the filter out of the clip for easier access. Release the hose clamps at the filter fittings and remove the filter. Attach the hoses onto the new filter and position the clamps. Press the filter into the clip and check for leaks. For fuel-injected engines, the filter is on the firewall near the brake master cylinder. Remove any interfering components. Remove the threaded banjo bolt at the top and loosen the fitting at the bottom. Remove the old filter and bracket assembly. Ensure the new filter is installed correctly with the outlet pipe facing up and the inlet pipe down. Install the inlet and outlet fittings with new crush washers. Reverse the removal procedure to complete installation.
