Evidence that should be maintained includes the position and manner in which the particular components are fixed to other parts or to the equipment to ease the disassembly process. Moreover, knowing the problems of the malfunctioning area in the transfer case can make it easier in the assessment and replacement of various parts.

Remove any transfer case breather hose from the top of the transmission.
