    What should be done if one chooses to replace the Crankshaft Seal without removing the oil pan for the 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser? Posted by Tsvetomir H.
    A:
    If you choose to proceed, pry out the old seal with a screwdriver, lubricate the crankshaft journal and the lip of the new seal with moly-base grease, and carefully press the new seal into place. Use multipurpose grease on the crankshaft seal journal and the new seal lip, and ensure to work the stiff lip onto the seal journal carefully.     Using a socket with an outside diameter slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the seal, carefully drive the new seal into place with a seal driver or large socket. Ensure it is installed squarely and to the same depth as the original. If a socket isn't available, a short section of large diameter pipe can also be used.
