The rear driveshaft attaches to the rear axle pinion flange using a bolted flange, and its connection to the transmission or transfer case varies depending on the driveline package (2WD or 4WD). Remove the snap-rings from the U-joint and use a vise to force the bearing cups out of the yoke. Transfer the sockets to the other side and press the opposite bearing cup out in the same manner. Lift the U-joint from the yoke and clean all dirt and debris from the yokes on both ends of the driveshaft.
