To remove the
Drive Shaft, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jack stands. Place the driveshaft on a bench with a vise. Mark the shaft and yoke for reassembly and remove the snap rings from the Universal Joint. Use a pipe or socket to press one bearing cup out of the yoke, supporting it with a smaller socket. Use pliers or a vise to remove the other bearing cup. Clean the yokes thoroughly, removing any dirt or debris and eliminating metal burrs. For installation, pack the new U-joint bearing cups with grease, following the provided lubrication instructions. Position the U-joint body in the yoke and partially install one bearing cup, ensuring the grease fitting points in the same direction as the grease filling on the opposite end. Start the U-joint body into the other cup and align it between the bearing cups. Press the bearing cups into position, being careful not to damage the dust seals. Install the snap-rings, using a hammer if necessary. Install the driveshaft, lubricate the grease fitting if present, remove the jack stands, and lower the vehicle.
