How to replace the front crankshaft seal in V6 engine for the 2007 Toyota Tacoma?

Remove the crankshaft pulley. Using a screwdriver or seal removal tool, gently remove the seal from the timing chain cover being very keen not to harm the crankshaft. When using a screwdriver place some tape around the head of the screw in order not to further harm the housing bore or the crankshaft as this in some cases may lead to leakage with the new seal. Scrub the bore in the timing chain cover and apply a layer of oil or multipurpose grease on the lip and outer border of the new seal. With its small opening placed in the hole, systematically insert a new seal into the position of the old one using a seal driver or a socket that has an outside diameter slightly less than the size of the seal The new seal should be hammered straight and level with the surface of the timing chain cover. After installation checks the compression seal to ensure the spring is well inserted. Reinstall the crankshaft pulley and make tight the bolt to the required torque. Last but not the least, start the engine and look for some possible leakage of oil at the front seal.
