Relax the wheel's lug nuts while lifting the vehicle, and afterward place it safely on metal support stands before taking off the wheels. Start by taking off the engine cover, then discharge the lubricant from the differential system. Unhook the driveshaft from the front differential, then hold the front end of the driveshaft steady with a wire. Untie the axle halves from their splines with your hands, then hold up the driveaxle ends with wire sections. Take off the vacuum lines and disconnect the 4WD indicator switch wire connection, then uninstall the crossmember. To detach the vacuum tubes from the actuator on models with ADD, just remove the two bolts that hold the vacuum lines in place, disconnect the control box, then take off the vacuum hoses. Warm up and stabilize your vehicle. After dismantling the crossmember, safety harness, and brake hoses, carefully lower your vehicle using a transmission jack or floor jack so you can easily remove the differential front and left mounting bolts and nut. Installation is the reverse of removal.
