Toyota 13506-37010 Chain Sub-Assembly

1. Ensure that the crankshaft has the key facing upward and that both camshaft sprockets have their alignment marks facing upward. 2. Install the oil pump sprockets, chain, and tensioner assembly. The chain links that have yellow marks must align with the marks on the sprockets. 3. Tighten the oil pump sprocket nut and the tensioner. Temporarily install the crankshaft damper and secure it while tightening the sprocket bolt. 4. Install the timing chain crankshaft sprocket. 5. Install the lower timing chain vibration damper/guide. 6. Place the timing chain over the sprockets, aligning the orange-painted links with the marks on the camshaft sprockets. The yellow/pink link must align with the mark on the crankshaft sprocket. 7. Install the top vibration damper between the camshaft sprockets. 8. Install the timing chain tensioner shoe and check all work before proceeding. 9. Install three new O-rings on the front of the block to replace the ones previously removed. 10. Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces of the timing chain cover using lacquer thinner or acetone. 11. Apply a 3/16-inch line of RTV silicone sealant to the joints of the cylinder head and the oil pan. 12. Apply a 3/16-inch bead of RTV silicone sealant around the perimeter of the timing cover and install it immediately. 13. Install all bolts, making sure that the correct length bolt is in each hole. Tighten all bolts in several steps. 14. Retract the timing chain tensioner and secure it with the hook. Install it to the timing chain cover with a new gasket. 15. Install two new O-rings before installing the oil filter bracket.
