Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts and raise the rear of the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands while blocking the front wheels to prevent rolling. Remove the rear wheels and support the rear axle with a floor jack placed near the shock absorber to be changed. Detach the shock absorber by removing the lower mounting bolt and then the upper mounting nut, taking care to note the arrangement of the mounting bushings and fitted washers. For installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring to tighten the mounting fasteners and lug nuts to the specified torque.
