In a case where the start of the engine is at a position other than the N, P of the shift selector then there is need to fix the problem. First, unscrew the neutral start switch bolts and engage the shift selector to N range; second turn the groove to the neutral basic line. Align the switch mechanically and fasten the screws to the recommended degree of turn. If the switch cannot be adjusted to eliminate starting in any range apart from N or P, then the switch should be replaced. Continue by disconnecting farther the transaxle control cable from the manual shift lever and then, removing the manual shift lever locknut and the lever itself. Then, remove the switch bolts and the switch, thereafter, put the new switch. To service this area, reinstall the manual shift lever, set the switch as required and finally re-install the transaxle control cable.
