To dismantle the steering components, first, loosen the wheel bolts, but do not take them off, use the jack to lift the car and place it on the jackstand and thereafter, take off the fronts wheels. After that, remove the steering shaft universal joint, with some reference markings made at the main shaft, joint yoke and the pinion shaft for reassembly process. Take out the two bolts from the he universal joint, and then twisting for the gear housing and the main shaft. First of all, unfasten all the connection between the tie-rod ends and the
Steering Knuckle, then, you must unscrew the bolts of the center crossmember from both sides. Then, recall that there are four bolts that hold the rack housing bracket, and you should remove the housing assembly. For installation the axes of the column hole cover shield and the pinion shaft should be put coinciding to each other prior to tight compression of the rack housing bracket bolts while tightening them not to harm the rubber boots. Reinstall the center crossmember together with the four bolts, torque the bolts to the required specifications. Bolt the tie-rod ends to the knuckle arms with new nut-bolt and tighten and install new cotter pins. Next, the match marks placed on the steering shaft, the universal joint and the pinion shaft are aligned; the two bolts are removed and new ones are inserted and tightened. Add the front wheels and loosely screw the lug nuts, then lower the machine and reintroduce the correct lug nuts. Usually it may be suggested that the front wheels be taken for alignment by the dealer or at a specialized alignment center once the reassembly is done.
